Praising God

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY’S VERSE…
Can you praise God with the same zeal you use at sporting events or rock concerts? Can you openly praise God as David did in the streets?
We sing when we are happy. We sing when we are heartbroken. Today we should sing out of gratitude to our God. God is not only worthy of all of our praise, He is worthy of all of our thankfulness also. But the basis of all our songs should be Jesus and what He has already done for us through His death on the cross. His death, burial and His resurrection and ascension to the throne. We should be making a proclamation of the good news that brings life to us through Him. We should be preaching about that redemptive power. As that message, that Word of Christ fills our hearts, we are tuned to be thankful children of the Most High God. There is none higher or none more worthy of our praise than Him. It is Christ’s Spirit living in us that brings forth God’s Love through us. You don’t have any trouble being loud and boisterous at sporting events, why can’t you show the same enthusiasm when you praise God?

MY PRAYER…
I am so thankful, Lord, for all the many blessings You have poured into my life. Your love, Your grace, Your mercy, and Your forgiveness, all give me hope for the future. Your gift of Jesus gives me life today and promises life eternal with You. The incredible physical blessings, as well as the blessings of a new family and friends, are wonderful. But the greatest of all blessings is the assurance that I will one day see You face- to-face and share Your glorious presence forever.

Intentional acts of love

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY’S VERSE…
Do you do random acts of kindness, or intentional acts of love?
For Christians there are no such things as random acts of kindness, only intentional acts of love given the opportunity to happen. This is true not just in deeds, but in words as well. But more than trying to avoid poor speech, we are urged to use our speech to bless and help others to come to know Christ. We are to always be full of the Word so that we have a answer to any question, an answer that lines up with the Word of God and not a worldly answer, not an answer that is of a doctrine of men, but of the doctrine of Christ. We are to “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15) Always be prepared with a Godly answer.

MY PRAYER…
Father, forgive me for the careless words I have uttered this week. I understand that these careless words are twice sins — a sin once when I committed it and a sin a second time because I didn’t see the opportunity to be redemptive right away. Open my eyes Lord so that I may see whom You have placed in my path to witness to. Lord, help me through Your Holy Spirit to have the correct words and the wisdom to know how and when to speak. Lord, use me as your oracle, help me to speak as lead by Your Spirit and not by my mind or the circumstances at the time.
In the name of Jesus I pray.

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY’S VERSE…
Do you ever ask God to search you?
God is omnipotent, omnipresent, and He is all knowing. He knows the condition of our hearts even better than we do. God knows us inside and out. We can’t pretend we are something we are not with Him. We can’t hide behind a facade and pretend to be something else, He knows us! He sees all we do and hears all we say. He even knows our thoughts before we speak them. This should liberate us to be able to have real intimacy with Him, but instead most of us run from such a close relationship with God. If our desire, however, is to become more like Him, the only way to be transformed into His likeness is by inviting Him in and allowing “Him to look at our heart, our motivations, and our desires, all of it, not just some. Let Him in and then let Him make the changes in us that He desires to make. He desires our close , intimate, fellowship most of all. He wants to renew your heart, mind and soul to a point where you think, feel, and desire the things He does. Where our desires become His desires and our thoughts become His thoughts.

MY PRAYER…
Father, I know You are the one who “searches hearts and minds” yet because of the grace You demonstrated in Jesus, I am confident that You love me. My heart is sorry for the sin I have committed, and I truly am ready to change. But I need Your help and Your power working in me to affect that change. I of myself can do nothing. I am really trying to serve You in honor and purity. Please fill me afresh today with Your Holy Spirit to enable me to become more like Christ. Father, search my heart and purge that which is not of You. In the name of Your Holy Son, Jesus I pray.

Living By Faith!

Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
Hebrews 10:38 King James Version

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY’S VERSE…
Do you live by faith?
God says the just shall live by faith in Him!
God tells us in His Word that the just shall live by faith in Him, but who are the just? Who is God talking about here?
According to the Greek word translated here as ‘just’, dikaios, dik’-ah-yos; from G1349; it means: equitable (in character or act); by implication: innocent, holy –just, meet, right (-eous)], so it appears to me that the just are those whom Jesus has cleansed with His Blood. Those who believe that Jesus died for THEM on the Cross that they might become the righteousness of God in Him. Those who have made Jesus the Lord of their lives! These are the ‘Just’ before God.
That means Jesus leads and guides their everyday lives, not just their Sunday Life!
Do you believe it? If you do, then are you living like you believe it? Remember the opposite of faith is fear.
Notice what the scripture above says if we draw back from our faith. If we draw back from faith, God has no pleasure in us because (Hebrews 10:39) when we draw back we draw into perdition [ruin or loss (phys., spiritual or
eternal):–damnable (-nation), destruction, we die, perish, pernicious ways, or
waste away.] So how do the ‘just’ live by faith? The ‘just’ (the Righteous) shall live by faith by calling those things that be not as though they were, just as God does. By believing what God says in His Word even when the natural circumstances are saying something else. Romans 4:17 states “…even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.” ’FAITH’ If God uses faith and we are to be imitators of Him, then why aren’t we using faith also?

MY PRAYER…
Lord God Almighty, forgive my acts of little faith and foolishness. By Your Holy Spirit, help me to cause my faith to grow. Help me to know in my spirit that I am the just, I am the righteousness of You through Jesus. Help me to have the boldness to step out of the boat with You and put my trust in all Your ways and Your Word. Give me courage to fight the good fight of faith and win the race. Through Your Holy Son, and My Lord, Jesus, I pray.

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY’S VERSE…
Is God’s Power At Work In You?
Of all the names for God in the Bible, this is my favorite: El Shaddai, Him who is able to do immeasurably more, The God of more than enough! The Great ‘I Am’, I am anything and everything that you need, God said! Our God today is the same God who parted the Red Sea for Moses and then fed 5,000 men (not to mention the women and children who were there with their men) on a green hillside with only a couple of small fishes and a loaf of bread. And then He, God, provided 12 baskets of left-overs! I have personally experienced His provision of multiplication of food, it wasn’t of the magnitude above, but it was still awesome to behold. He longs to do more than we can ask and imagine, but most of us haven’t really given Him much of a challenge or much of a chance. We try to do it all ourselves. Dream big dreams for God. Then step aside and let Him go to work for you and just hang on! Our God is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Heb 13:8). What He did before He will do again and again! Is His Power at work in you?

MY PRAYER…
Almighty and awesome God, do in our day what You did in days past. You said in your Word that You change not, that Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. You gave us faith to believe and then You are amazed at the smallness of our faith. Give us vision to see Your plan, to have greater Faith, and to do greater things. We ask this, not for ourselves or our experience, but for a sign to Your people so that the harvest will be large and that Your glory will be great and for the salvation of the world. In Jesus’ name.

Know who you are in Christ

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY’S VERSE…
You must know who you are in Christ, do you?

God said confess Your faults one to another. He said confess your faults to who? Not a man in confessional booth, hiding behind a screen, expecting you to call him “father”! I can’t find that anywhere in any Bible translations that I have read and studied. How do we get healed? Praying one for another! Doesn’t say anything about saying ‘hail Marys’ or counting beads. That’s religious church doctrine strait from the Pharisees and Sadducees of old! Then He goes on to say that the “effectual fervent prayer” by a man that is in right standing with Him (God the Father) accomplishes much. How is a man in right standing before God? Answer: He is one who has given his life over to Jesus Christ to be his Lord and Savior, one who is cleansed by the Blood of Jesus, that is a man in right standing before God. Any “Born again” believer!
The word translated from the Greek here as ‘effectual’ means : to be active, efficient, be mighty in, shew forth self, work (effectually in). To be “on fire-white hot!”
We must renew our way of thinking, You say, “Well if I were righteous I would do that!” Do you know who you are in Christ? Are you His child? Are you bon again? Have you made Jesus your Lord and Savior? “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.” Gal 3:26 Are you a born again believer who has made Jesus Christ your Lord? Then you are righteous before God! (2 Cor 5:21 KJV) “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.”
Because of what Jesus has done for us on the Cross, we are righteous. I didn’t say that, the Word of God did!

MY PRAYER…
Father, I thank You for Your Word. I thank You that You have set forth Your will for us in Your Word. Father, I thank You that You have told us we should pray for one another. That You have actually given us authority in Your Word to pray for one another. I thank You Lord that I know my prayers are heard by You and that they accomplish much because I am righteous in Your eyes. Jesus has made me so with His precious Blood. Help me Lord to keep my heart pure and to do Your bidding Lord. In Jesus’ Holy name and by the power of His precious Blood I pray.

Strengthened By the Angels of God

“For how can this servant of my lord talk with you, my lord? As for me, no strength remains in me now, nor is any breath left in me.” Then again, the one having the likeness of a man touched me and strengthened me.
And he said, “O man greatly beloved, fear not! Peace be to you; be strong, yes, be strong!” So when he spoke to me I was strengthened, and said, “Let my lord speak, for you have strengthened me.”

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY’S VERSES…
Have you been strengthened by the angels of God?
Daniel was in such a weakened state that he was not even able to speak when the Angel of the Lord first appeared. But because he was humble and had called on God, He sent His angel to strengthen Daniel and renew him. Notice in this verse that an Angel of God came and strengthened Daniel! Do you need God’s angels to strengthen and renew you? All we have to do is call on them, their job is to minister (serve) unto us, the heirs to salvation. (“Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?” Heb 1:14). All we have to do is Believe – no other proof needed!

MY PRAYER…
Precious Father, thank You for giving your angels charge over me. Thank you Lord for instructing them to harken unto your spoken Word and to be ministers (servants) un to those of us who are heirs to your Kingdom through our faith and believe in ?Jesus, Your Son. Thanks Abba Daddy for giving me that which I was not worthy to receive. That which I could in no way earn You lovingly gave to me as a free gift, if only I would receive it. Father, I exercise my faith and I accept that which I was not worthy to have, but that which You have freely given. Thank You Lord for sending me Jesus to show me the way, the only way! In Jesus’ name I pray.

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY’S VERSES…
Have the angels of God been sent to you?
Daniel was in great distress and being held prisoner by the king and he had been drained of all his strength and was short of breath even. But, because he had set his heart on God and humbled himself to the point of asking God for help, God sent His angel to strengthen him. Not only did God send an angel, He sent Michael, an Archangel, one of the greatest of all the angels. Do you need God’s angels at work for you? YES! All we have to do is Believe and Ask, then command them – God’s Word says that. No other proof needed! See yesterday’s manna.

Daddy, Abba, Father

For [the Spirit which] you have now received [is] not a spirit of slavery to put you once more in bondage to fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption [the Spirit producing sonship] in [the bliss of] which we cry, Abba (Father)!

One night after a worship service a friend of mine and I stepped outside and were suddenly awed by the beauty around us. It was one of those crisp, clear winter nights when the brilliance of the moon and stars nearly takes your breath away. I said to my friend, “Tommy, will you look at that!” Then he looked up with one of those Holy Ghost whole-face smiles and with a voice full of tenderness said, “My Daddy made that!”
“My Daddy….” I’ll never forget the way he said that.

Some people might think he shouldn’t have been talking in such familiar terms about God, but they’d be wrong. It’s scriptural to talk that way about Him. The Aramaic word for father—Abba—is used several times in the New Testament. The most accurate translation for that word in English is “Daddy.” It’s a word that signifies closeness. It speaks of a relationship that’s been developed through time spent together. Father is strict and regimented, something out of boarding school learning. “Daddy” signifies a closeness only achieved through loving time spent together.

“Father” is one thing. “Daddy” is another.

Growing up, my father was sometimes my “Father” and sometimes my “Daddy.” When we were out duck hunting, he was “Daddy.” When he gave commands he meant to be obeyed instantly, he was “Father.”

God is like that too. He’s your Father and He’s your Daddy. There are times you’ll be very serious and down to business with one another. Other times you’ll be more lighthearted and casual if you will. But either way, once you fellowship with Him enough to get to know Him, I guarantee, you’ll want to be close to Him all the time and He will become your “Daddy!”

MY PRAYER…
Holy Father, I thank You for the revelation of who You really are to me, for the revelation of what our relationship is really all about. Father, I thank You that, when the time was right, You spoke by Your Spirit unto me and revealed Yourself to me in a way that conveyed Your true nature . No man made this known unto me, but the Spirit of God revealed it unto my spirit. Father I thank You for saving me, for giving me eternal life with You, for making a way for me where there was none. Father, that I may come boldly before Your Throne of Grace because I truly know who You are to me. Father continue to reveal unto me the mighty works of Your Son Jesus. Through the glorious name of my Savior, Jesus, I pray.

What God’s Word Says About His Angels

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY’S VERSE…
What God’s Word Says About His Angels:
It’s time to set the record straight. Do you believe in Angels, because you’d better! Here’s God’s Word about His Angels. Angels are not kid stuff. They are not cute little fat babies (that we call cherubs) with long blonde hair and bows and arrows in their hands. And they are NOT those of our family who have gone before us either. Our people (humans) who die before us do NOT become angels. Angels are NOT human in nature though they may at times take on human appearance to complete their tasks. Angels are different, separate spiritual beings created by God and are not human beings! They are separate spiritual beings created by God for His purposes and to do His work (“Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?” Heb 1:14). Angels are big, they are strong, they are warriors. They are real, though spiritual in nature. They are powerful. And, if you are a believer, they should be a vital part of your life. God said they are ministers (that means servants) to those who inherit salvation, that’s all who have given their life to Jesus. God said His angels harken unto the Word spoken. Notice I capitalized “Word”, that’s because it must be God’s Word if they are to harken unto it, not ours unless it lines up with God’s! Read the account in Daniel chapter 10 about how the angels, even Michael, the Archangel, came to Daniel’s aid. If you’re a child of God, then you have a right to expect God’s angels to be at work for you. So, start expecting, start directing them, according to God’s Word. That’s right, I said “Directing the Angels of God!” Say, “Thank You, heavenly Father for giving Your angels charge over me to keep me in all my ways.” Once you’ve spoken that word of faith, stand fast. Don’t fear. Don’t waver. Just be patient and keep believing, and you will surely see the angels of heaven go to work on your behalf. I have numerous personal accounts I could give, if space would permit. My Angels sent from God surround me, my family, and all that belongs to me. They keep me in all my ways and no evil can befall me while they are on duty. Oh, Did I mention? They never sleep!

MY PRAYER…
Lord I thank You that You have given Your angels charge over me. I thank You that I can speak forth Your Word and the angels of heaven harken unto it to make it happen. Lord I thank You that when I am weak You are strong and Your angels will come and minister to me just as they did to Jesus in the wilderness. Lord, help me to understand the true meaning of Your Word, Your covenant, and Your promises. In Jesus mighty name, I pray.
