You Must Worship God In And From Your Spirit

God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.
John 4:24 New King James Version

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY’S VERSE…
You must worship God in and from your spirit, your inner most heart and soul.
Genuine worship is a gift, it is something we are given by the spirit when we are born again unto God. Since God is spirit (a spiritual being), since He is holy, we cannot fully approach Him without the free gift of His grace, the cleansing of His Son’s Blood, and the blessing of His Holy Spirit. As Christians who received His Spirit when we were baptized into Christ and born again of God’s Spirit, we can now speak to Him and worship Him spirit to Spirit. In fact, we can ONLY worship Him in spirit, our natural man can not communicate with His Spirit. But we must also worship him in truth, the true knowledge of who He is and what He has done for us will cause you to worship Him from your heart (your spirit man). Through this worship by the spirit you will truly come to know and have a personal relationship with God the Father!

MY PRAYER…
Abba Father, by the gift of Your Spirit I come to You as Your child. Thank You so much for giving, Your Son to redeem me, Your Holy Spirit to make me a new creation, and filling me anew each and every day with Your Holy Spirit so that I can approach You with confidence and know You hear the concerns of my heart. Please accept the worship of my heart, of my words, and of my actions. May the things I do today be done in spirit and in true knowledge of who and what You are in my life. May I bring You glory and Honor forever.

Jesus, the Great Reconciler!

Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, Leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY’S VERSE…
Be reconciled to each other before you offer anything to God. What is Jesus saying here? He’s telling us that the altar (our hearts, we are the temple of the living God under the New Covenant) is more important than the gift being offered. God is more concerned about our heart condition toward each other than He is about a gift or offering or sacrifice to Him. Make sure you have prepared your heart and that you come to Him having a pure heart, not holding any un-forgiveness toward anyone.

MY PRAYER…
Precious Father, thank You forgiving me, for cleansing me of all unrighteousness through the precious blood of Jesus. Father, let me see the revelation of the teaching offered in these verses. Help me Father, to understand that we must come to You with only a pure heart. A heart that holds no malice or un-forgiveness, but only love. The Love of God that has been shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit. Father, take me and purge me with Your Refiner’s Fire and remove all un-forgiveness, strife, envy, and anything else that is not a part of Your Love from me. Father, make me a vessel You can use for Your Glory. In Jesus’ name I pray.

We Are Not Judges

Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY’S VERSE…
Did you know that we are not to be judges or to judge others? The Word of God instructs us not to be judgmental or condemning toward others lest we ourselves be judged. If we are so busy passing judgment and condemnation on others then we can not see our own transgressions and therefore we will also be judged by men and especially by God. But God went even further than telling us not to judge or condemn. God would instead have us to forgive and to share love, His love with others. He would have us to forgive even our enemies through love, so that He can forgive us. (Mark 11:25) Not just say we forgive them, and then not let pass what we have against them, but to give it up and let it go, not remembering what we had against our enemies. You can not forgive something if you say to them: “I forgive you, but I’ll never forget what you did!” You must also forget it and let God deal with it or it is NOT forgiven! To actually pray for and bless them instead! Remember, God is Love!

MY PRAYER…
Holy Father in heaven help me to walk in Your love and forgiveness here and now on this earth. Father, by Your grace, let me not judge or condemn even an enemy of mine. Instead Father, help me to show loving kindness and forgiveness even in the face of scorn and malice, that they may know Your love. Father help me to produce the fruit of righteousness that will uphold and build up the reputation of Christianity before the world. In Jesus’ name I pray.

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY’S VERSE…
God is like gravity, you can’t see Him but He still exists! To deny there is a God would be like trying to deny there is gravity. You can deny it exists, but jump off a roof and I guarantee you it will prove to you that it does exist! You can deny God now, but on judgment day you will know that He exists, but it will be too late then to acknowledge Him as Lord!
How many of us have ever raised an angry fist to the sky, cursed the darkness, and denied there is a God or worse yet – cursed God! Each of these things is equally ineffective and really very futile. To believe that there is no God is only to rob ourselves of His Love, His mercy, His grace, His hope for our lives, and a heavenly future with Him for all eternity. How foolish indeed to forget or deny that behind a creation of wonder, beauty, greatness, unexcelled pattern, and kingly order is our God, the Creator of the heavens and the earth and all that is therein. The great I AM who was and is and will be forever. Who is far greater than His handiwork in us. Man didn’t just happen to come about nor did we come from some other species or crawl out of the ocean as some slime blob. God created man (us, you and I) in His likeness and in His nature for His great pleasure!

MY PRAYER…
Lord God Almighty, Creator and Sustainer of the universe, thank You for being there, not just then, but for being with me today and everyday. Thank You Lord for creating me in Your likeness, breathing the breath of Your Zoe life into me, for giving me Your Spirit and placing in my character your character and being. Help me Lord to never forget that it was You who gave me life, and it’s You who give it more abundantly. There is only one God, one Jesus, & one Holy Spirit and you Father them all in one! In Jesus name I pray.

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY’S VERSE…
The sound of fury and power!
Mankind loves power. We love the sound and fury of power, especially when it is at work for us. We love the ability to change things that having power brings. But think about the power that was held back when Almighty God’s only begotten Son was persecuted and murdered on the Cross so we could be saved. Too many people stop right there and think “I’m saved, that means I’m going to heaven”, and fail to realize the full and awesome power released through the Cross that day over 2000 years ago, and then the exponential power release 3 days later at the resurrection, when the rest of God’s power through the Holy Spirit was released. The resurrection, that’s the greatest power ever unleashed on this earth and just think what it made available to us. My Bible says: “But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwells in you.” (Romans 8:11) Quicken your mortal body, make it healed and healthy and whole and full of life! Salvation is a package deal, why would anyone want to remove just one item from the gift box they received and be satisfied when the box is full of many more gifts! What about our healing, our prosperity, freedom from bondage and depression, our deliverance from all the works of the devil. ALL these are there in that same gift box from God also. So many denominations stop at just being saved and going to heaven someday. But, Jesus bought ALL of God’s gifts for us when He went to Hell in our place and defeated the Devil. It’s part of the package deal. Now that’s an awesome display of power.

MY PRAYER…
Holy and Majestic Father on high, I praise You for Your incredible might and power. But I also thank You for Your love, mercy, and grace which guides the release of that power. Thank You for helping me to realize that I am but as the dust of the earth without Your sustaining Spirit. Thank You for saving me by withholding Your mighty judgmental power so I could be pardoned by the mercy and grace of Your sacrificial power. That because I was washed in the Blood of Your Holy Son Jesus, I am now cleansed and righteous before You. Thanks Dad, for not giving me what I deserved, but Love, Grace, and Mercy instead. Through blood of Jesus I offer this prayer.

Will you Let God complete His Love in you?
Can you imagine what an honor it is to have the Creator of the universe, the Lord God Almighty, living inside of you! But when we love each other, that is exactly what happens. When our hearts are full of love, there is a place made for God and we fulfill His desire for us. He allows us into His Secret Place. When our hearts are not full of love, we leave God little room to do His Work in us. Instead we leave an open door for the evil one to come in and take up residence and produce his sinful character in us. Let God complete His love in you. Love one another with the ‘God kind of’ love!

MY PRAYER…
Abba Father, it is so comforting to know that You are not far away – that I live in You and You live in me. Help me see others with Your eyes, and respond to their needs with Your heart, so that Your love may be complete in me. In Jesus’ name I pray.

“Increase my faith, O Lord.” “Increase my strength,” “Increase my wisdom,” “Increase my knowledge.” We often pray for these things, but when is the last time you thanked God for your love increasing? Is your love for others ever increasing? Can you think of anything more exciting to say about your church (your brothers and sisters in Christ) than “The love every one of you has for each other is ever increasing!” “Increase my Love, O Lord.” Let’s pray and act to make it so! God will then add the rest unto us.

MY PRAYER…
Holy Father, may Your love so fill us that we cannot help but share it with everyone we come in contact with, especially others who call on Your name as we do. May this love grow and increase in our lives so others may readily see its benefits and recognize that it is a direct response to Your lavish love shared on us through Jesus. In Jesus, Name, I pray.

Did you know we are to love our enemies?
As Christians we are supposed to do and act like our Precious Lord did when He walked on this earth. He says we are to love our enemies and do good to and for them. If we show forth His love to those who are in need and those who would despise and use us, to those where we know we will not get a return back from, then we will receive His reward. He will receive us as His children, children of the most High God. Heirs to the Kingdom of righteousness. And we show forth the true meaning of Christianity — being “Christ” like!

MY PRAYER…
Father I thank You that You have not asked us to do something that You have not already done Yourself and that You have not already equipped us to do. For You have given us Your grace, Your mercy, and Your strength to cope with the things of this world. You have given us a Name that is above all other names. That You sent forth Your Son Jesus, my Lord and Savior, because You so loved the world. The strength and grace You sent through Him more than equips me to carry out Your will. Thank You Father, for the reward You have reserved in heaven for me and for the blessings bestowed upon me now and for the grace to continue to do Your will here on earth. THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY’S VERSE…
Do you know and understand the secret of God’s A.S.K. principal?
Wisdom is that illusive quality we respect in others, especially in our leaders, and yet find so difficult to develop in our own lives. Solomon asked for it with a pure heart and God gave him great wisdom and also much, much more. God promises wisdom to those who truly, from their heart ask for it. But remember the secret of God’s A.S.K. principal;
Asking, Seeking, and Knocking. Or better yet, check out Proverbs 2:1-11. Wisdom is ours only if we seek it with all our heart and above all other possessions and if we value it above all other diversions. God longs to impart it, but there is something about wisdom that demands we value it before we can receive it.

MY PRAYER…
Heavenly Father, one who gives all good gifts, please continue to bless me with increased wisdom today and tomorrow and from this day forward. Let me reflect Your will and live for Your glory in all my decisions. Let Your Spirit guide my heart as I make my choices and have Your Holy Spirit lead me in all Your ways. I confess, Father, that I cannot guide my own steps without Your help. So grant me wisdom this day Lord to be able to know Your will for my life and follow Your will in all I do. In Jesus name I pray.

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY’S VERSE…
Peace – wouldn’t it be wonderful to always have total peace in everything you did or said? Through Jesus, we can have true peace (shalom) – wellness in body, soul, and spirit. His relationships with others, His victory over sin, death and the grave ensures that we can have that peace, too! That is, if He is your Lord & Savior! So as we receive the Spirit of Christ into our hearts, we can live with our brothers and sisters, no matter how flawed we may be, in a state of peace and love. Peace that passes all understanding, peace that comes only from having a daily relationship with Jesus. Besides, as Paul changes metaphors on us in the last part of the verse, we are the Body of Christ and of course a body does not want to be at war with itself. So live in peace and love with others, and do so with thanksgiving in your hearts, getting our strength and peace from our relationship with God through Jesus our Lord! Because we know Christ Jesus is, “The Truth, The Way, and The Life.” There is no other way!

MY PRAYER…
Blessed Father of all believers, please help me to change my heart so that I can love Your people as You do. I know that as the character of Jesus permeates my life, I will appreciate the preciousness of each of Your children more and will come to see those difficult family members as the grit out of which You will fashion my pearl. I pray that You will continue to give me grace and peace until my heart matches my commitment to love all of Your children just as You love each of them. Through the Blood of Jesus I pray.
