How is your Faith?

Do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY’S VERSE…
There are always some tough times in life, there will always be trials and tests that we will face! They’re inescapable. Jesus said, “But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them.” That’s when our faith in the Lord and our relationship with Him will be tested! It is one thing to stand in a worship service at church and sing “it is well with my soul”, but it is quite another to be able to sing it when you are in stocks and chains in a prison dungeon like Paul and Silas were. Or when they auction off your house at the courthouse steps or you’ve lost a child to some horrendous act of the Devil. That’s when the commitment to your faith must be at it’s strongest. That’s when we must know that we know that we know and can walk in that faith in the Lord. We can’t wait until that happens and then try and build our faith. Our faith can’t take a holiday and then us try and travel through the ghettos of hell or we’ll never find our way out. So don’t throw your faith in Jesus away, or push it aside because you don’t think you need it right now. No, stand on it, always, at all times and declare it to the world. Build up your faith day by day.

MY PRAYER…
Holy and Mighty Father God, today is a good day for me. But I am acutely aware that some of those I love, some of my brothers and sisters are wrestling with and are throwing away their confidence in Your love, mercy, grace, peace, and deliverance. Please use me, but even more I pray that You use Your Holy Spirit through me to renew their hearts. I pray that You reveal unto them the errors they have been making. Reveal unto them the real need for holding on to their faith and confidence in You. Lord, place Your mighty hand upon their lives and our lives and intervene directly to change the course of events and give us relief through Your rest. In Jesus name I pray.

As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him: Rooted and built up in Him, and established in ‘The Faith’, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after CHRIST.
Colossians 2:6-8 King James Version

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY’S VERSE…
Here in this verse, Paul is warning the church at Colossae to beware of anything or anyone that is not of the Word of God, that is not of the faith of God in Christ Jesus. He is telling them to make sure they are built up and rooted in the things of ‘THE FAITH’ in Jesus Christ and the Faith of God, not a faith, not in worldly wisdom or policies. There is nothing wrong with with being called a ‘Word of Faith’ church, actually that is a compliment! Paul here sternly warns them to beware of those who will come in and seeming to be Godly men (but lacking the power of God), try to deceive you with their philosophy, their doctrines of men (really the devil in disguise), and their vain deceit. Teachings garnered from some seminary that didn’t rightly divide the Word of God through revelation of His Word by the Holy Spirit’s guidance but instead relied on man’s so-called wisdom and knowledge. Beware they will even quote scripture to you, but double check the Word and how they are using it! They will try to bring in their traditions and history and other things of the world that don’t line up with the Word of God. Many will come speaking of bringing unity to the churches. But, he says, beware of these, Is it truly the unity of faith in Christ Jesus that they are trying to bring or is it some other type of unity (you’re okay, I’m okay, we’re okay). Filter everything through the Word of God and Jesus Christ and Him Crucified. Anything that doesn’t line up 100% with the Word of God and Jesus Christ and Him Crucified, throw it out (that’s the bad doctrine they bring). If they are against a Word of Faith church, they are against God’s Word! There is only one Faith (Christianity) and it is based on the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus by the power of God through the Holy Ghost and then you receiving of that grace into your lives by faith in God. There is NO other way!

MY PRAYER…
Father, thank You for providing us Your Word as our Guide in life. Thank You Lord for the strength and wisdom You provide us through Your Holy Spirit to see through these attacks on our faith. Father help us each and every day to put a guard on our hearts to protect us from the philosophy, vain deceit, and the traditions of men Thank You Lord for sending me Jesus to show me the way, the only way! Lord I pray that those who come by any other means or for any other reason will be revealed. That their plans will be openly displayed before us that we might be able by our faith to withstand them and remain firmly rooted and built up in the true Word of God. In Jesus’ precious name I pray.

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY’S VERSE…
Yes, I know, I said this not very long ago, but it’s true. Everyone needs to understand it.
Don’t try and tell me we are all trying to get to heaven our own way, or that there are many ways. There is NO other way! I didn’t say that, the Word of God did! Who do you say Jesus is? Jesus is God’s gift to mankind. A gift is free, you do NOT have to earn it but you must receive it for it to be of benefit to you. Will you receive God’s gift?
Jesus, “there’s just something about that name!” The words to that old song are right on. That name made the Pharisees of old seethe with anger and indignation. How dare Him call Himself the “Son of God!” But to me, that name is anything and everything I need for Salvation from what a warped, broken, and morally degenerate and corrupt world can NOT provide. Salvation is more than just going to heaven someday for eternity. Salvation is much more than just fire-insurance! Salvation is for now, here on earth also! It is a package deal full of the promises of God. The Greek word soteria (so-tay-ree’-ah), translated above as salvation also means: rescue or safety; deliver, health, salvation, save, saving (the Hebrew word includes prosperity and liberty as well.) Salvation through the blood of Jesus is total redemption from sin, sickness, disease and poverty, not when we get to Heaven, but, NOW here on earth just as it is in Heaven! Mat 6:10 “Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as [it
is] in heaven.” His will is total salvation now! He is our Savior because He was willing to become a man like us (to lay aside His deity for a time) and come into this world, to live the only sinless life ever lived and to bear our limitations, shame, sickness, disease and sin, in His Body for us on the Cross. He then triumphed over them through His death, burial and resurrection by the power of the Holy Spirit of God (the same Holy Spirit that He gave to us). He defeated death, hell, and the grave; He defeated the devil, and now he (the devil) doesn’t have a leg or feet to stand on!

MY PRAYER…
Through the precious name of Jesus of Nazareth, the Christ, my Lord, I thank and praise You God. Your love has given the ultimate sacrifice for my sin and Your grace and power have given me the assurance of my resurrection from the dead by the same Holy Spirit that raised Jesus from the grave. Your Son’s willingness to spend a lifetime with and to be to me a Great High Priest who forever lives to intercede at Your right hand on my behalf has ensured my eternal destiny. His example lets me know of Your great love. You so loved me, that You gave Your only begotten Son that I might have eternal life. Thank You Father, for being so gracious and merciful, for giving me such a wonderful Savior.

Humble Yourself

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY’S VERSE…
Humble yourselves. That sounds ridiculous, why would you want to humble yourself? At least to the world and those that believe “get ahead at all costs” and “don’t look back, the competition is gaining on you.” It makes no sense and sounds ridiculous. But, humility is a forgotten virtue, a virtue God highly prizes in His children. Often confused with weakness or timidity; humility is really ALL about knowing your proper place in the spirit realm and in the world without flaunting it. Humility is about kneeling before God and saying “Not my will Lord, but Yours be done.” Being humble is NOT being weak or timid or letting people walk all over you. And it’s NOT about being poor and doing without so as to appear humble, that’s not humble – that’s just plain stupid ignorance and being poor, plain and simple. Being humble is about knowing that only God can exalt someone in a permanent way, so the key is to know your place before Him and let Him put you in the place He chooses for you, to honor Him. Jesus said, “…If any man DESIRE to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.” (Mark 9:35) That’s what humble is. If you want to be at the top in the Kingdom of God, then you must first humble yourself before God. You do not want God to have to humble you because you won’t humble yourself. That would be like a boulder falling on you, it would hurt big time!

MY PRAYER…
Abba Father, Most Holy God, thank You for allowing me into Your presence. When I think of all that You have done, the incredible universe You have made and hold together by Your Word and Your Spirit, I am amazed that You would invite me into Your presence and care about my needs. Thank You for knowing me and having a plan for my life to please You. Help me this day to glorify You in what I do and say. Let Your Holy Spirit lead and guide me in all things, teaching me Your will and Your ways. Lord keep me from pride and teach me to be humble before You. In Jesus’ name I pray.

One Way Only!

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY’S VERSE…
God Himself declares, there is no savior except Himself (Jesus). There is only one true and living God. All others are foreign and are but idols dreamed up in the minds of men. Men living a life of deception in a world of perversion, greed, and lusts of the flesh. And there is but one way to come unto the Father which is in heaven and that is through His Son Jesus. There is NO other way! All other ways are roads of deception unto a bitter end. Choose wisely for He has set before us life and death. The choice is yours. Choose life through Jesus Christ, He is the Way, the Truth and the Life, no man comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). All other so-called ways are but lies from the Devil and the deception of men to make you think there are other ways. No Man comes to God any other way except through Jesus! I didn’t say that, God’s Word said that very clearly. God has set before us life and death and He told us to choose. He gave us the choice in the matter, but He told us also to choose life! Beware those who profess other Gods and other ways, they will lead you to death and destruction only!

MY PRAYER…
Oh Most High God, You have revealed Yourself unto me. Lord speaking by Your Spirit unto my spirit and confirming Yourself to me. Thank You Lord for showing me that there is no other God but You and that You and You alone are the way unto salvation. All other roads lead to destruction in the end. Thank You Lord for quickening my spirit and helping me to believe in You. Thank You for Your grace, Your mercy, and Your most Holy Son Jesus. Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! In Jesus I thank You for ever more!

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY’S VERSE…
The Most High God (“Elyown”) wants us to give ourselves, our bodies, our lives to Him as a living sacrifice. A sacrifice that He can take and change and mold and make into a vessel that He can use for His work and His purposes. But He warns us, to be not like the world, making resolutions that you never keep. He wants us sanctified and set apart unto only Him. He wants us to transform ourselves through His Word (the renewing of your mind). When we have put His Word into our hearts and continuously meditate on His Word instead of the things of the world, we prove His will. We will do His will, and it will be holy and acceptable to Him. We will have presented ourselves as a living sacrifice unto Him. He will, for His part, cleanse and make us clean before Him and righteous in His eye, and acceptable for every work to which He sets to do.

MY PRAYER…
Holy Father, help me to present myself unto You for Your service. Give me the power through Your Holy Spirit to overcome this world’s ways and the corruption of this earth. To be able to lay aside myself and to pick up the life of the Spirit of Christ. Help me to be strong, Oh Lord, through Your Holy Spirit that I might be an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to You in every way. Lord take me, change me, mold me, and shape me into what You want me to be. I give myself unto You from this day forward. I give You all praise, glory and honor forever. In Jesus name, I pray.

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY’S VERSE…
ONE! Basic, simple, and easy to understand. When we became Christians through our faith and belief in Jesus, the Son of God. When we make Jesus the Lord of our lives. Then as an outward sign of our faith and belief we are baptized into Christ with water. The water baptism is NOT what makes us one with Christ, it is our faith and belief in Him. We were made one with all other Christians, those who are in Christ also (Not religious people, but those who are in Christ!) around the world. We became part of a new heavenly family. Race, gender, nationality, color of skin, and social status are all gone. All that’s left is One, “The One”, Jesus. We are now the Body of Christ, ONE body. Our lives are not our own anymore, but are His and thus are connected to each other, we are His members here on the earth. Our destination is the same, Heaven. Our family is the same, His church, His Body. No barriers. No closed doors. We are one in Christ and heirs to the Kingdom of God. But, there is only ONE way to get there and that is through Jesus Christ and Him crucified for you! There is NO other way – though many would try to deceive you into thinking there are other ways. They are liars and lying is the Devil’s middle name.

MY PRAYER…
Abba Father, thank You for adopting me into Your family, for grafting me in . May we be one on earth now, as we will be when we are all together around Your throne in heaven. I pray for unity in the Spirit among all those who call upon the Name of Jesus and share Your Spirit so the world may know there is a solution to conflict, strife and division. Father I pray that we, the body of Christ would unify and stand tall against the darkness in this world. That we would take our rightful places and walk out Your plan for mankind until the coming of our Lord Jesus. Through Jesus the Christ, our Lord, Savior, and Righteousness I pray.

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY’S VERSE…
Jesus, shed His blood on the Cross for all of mankind. For you and for me, and for anyone else who would believe on Him and call on His name and endure to the end with Him. Jesus, made us a promise of a mansion in His Father’s house! Grasp that statement. A mansion within a house! How grand that house must be to have mansions (plural) within it! He promised that He Himself would prepare a place for us and return for us. His only requirement: that we believe in Him until the end. He said you know where I go and you know the way. Do you know the way? It was understood that He was telling us to walk in “The Way”, His way. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life and no one comes to the Father except through Him. (John 14:6) No one, no other way! There is only “One Way!” Don’t believe those who claim there are many ways.

MY PRAYER…
Most Holy God, I give You praise and glory forever. Father I thank You for Your covenant promises made to Jesus for us. I thank You Lord that Jesus is preparing my eternal mansion in Your house. Lord I thank You that You are preparing to receive us for eternity. I know that what You have promised in Your Word is true. I thank You Lord that You have given us the best gift You had to give, Your Son Jesus! And I know that You have shown us the way, and that all we must do is follow it. In Jesus mighty name, I give You praise and glory forever.

Trust in God to sustain you in life!

[The Lord says,] “Even to your old age and gray hairs, I am He, I am He who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY’S VERSE…
How many times has God carried you, or rescued you?
Do you want an awesome promise from God? Hear the Words of the “Great God Jehovah” to the remnant of the house of Israel. To the children of Abraham who by Faith have become children of the Most High God with the same rights and privileges as the house of Israel. (That’s us Christians folks! We who have made Jesus our Lord!) He is telling them; “put your trust in Me, believe in Me, have faith in Me, for it is I who will keep you and carry you, it is I who will rescue you, and it is I who will sustain you, not those graven idols you have been worshiping.” Then in verses 9 & 10 (of Isaiah 46) He tells them this; “Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:” He is telling the remnant of the house of Israel to return to Him and He will show them His salvation (the Hebrew word translated here as salvation means: liberty, deliverance, prosperity, saving and salvation: it means all of these). By the time it got down to the “New Testament”, the Great Jehovah had extended that offer to all the rest of the people on Earth (the unbelieving heathen and gentiles of the world, if they would believe in Him and His Son Jesus) as well as just Israel. Now, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8), He is telling us this same thing today, trust in me and I will deliver you and keep you! Is your source the Lord? Or do you trust in the world, worse yet do you trust in SELF instead of God?

MY PRAYER…
Almighty God, I give You all praise and glory forever. Lord I thank You that You carry me when I am in times of trouble, that You are always there to rescue me, and that it is You who sustain me when I can no longer continue. Lord, now I understand why at times I see two sets of footprints behind me and yet at other times I see only one set. I used to think that You had left my side, but now I know that when there was only one set, that was when You were carrying me in Your arms and in Your grace. I thank You Lord that You have never and never will leave me nor forsake me. I put all my trust in You Lord and in Jesus name, I pray.
