TODAY’S MANNA for Saturday April 30, 2016

Do you know how and do you regularly praise God?

Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, O Lord, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all.
1 Chronicles 29:11 New International Version

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY’S VERSE…
Praise is letting God know we recognize Him for who He is, what He has done, and what He is doing (His promises in His Word.) But more than informing God of His greatness, praise is rejoicing before Him in His greatness and recognizing that not only is His grace and mercy without comparison, His majesty and Might and Holiness and Faithfulness and Righteousness and Love and Forgiveness and Justice and, and, and … are without comparison. Praise is thankful celebration that He is God in our lives even when things around us are a mess. Praise is our thankful appreciation that even more importantly He is our God and that we are His Children.

MY PRAYER…
Great and Gracious God without comparison, You are truly worthy of my best praise and best thoughts and best imaginings. I give you ALL praise and ALL glory as I humbly submit myself to You, I rejoice that You are who You are, I celebrate in what You have done, and long for what You are yet to do. I know that all god things come down from the Father of light and that You only do good things for Your children. You are magnificent, my Father and my God. Through Jesus, and His matchless love, I praise you.
Amen

TODAY’S MANNA for Friday April 29, 2016

Do you fear separation from God?

I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither present nor the future, nor powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is ours in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:38-39 New International Version

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY’S VERSE…
Separation is something we fear whether it’s from a child, a parent, a sibling, a spouse, a friend, or from God. Paul explains here that, because Jesus bore our separation from God, by becoming our sIn and going to the cross for us we do not have to face that separation from God. On the Cross that day He experienced our separation from God as He cried out: “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” He had never known separation from God before that time. We can know we won’t ever have to be separated from God’s love if we are in Christ and Christ is in us, unless you choose to separate yourself from God. There may be physical separation but I believe that nothing, no not anything, can separate me spiritually from the love of God toward me. Jesus paid the price for me, He made the way for me. A way I could not make for myself, nor you for yourself!

MY PRAYER…
Holy Father, thank You for loving me so much. Thank You for giving me the promise that nothing can separate me from Your love. Please continue to fill me with your Spirit and make me more aware of Your accompanying presence in my life each and every day. Lord help me to understand the things that I do not, so that I can grow more and more in Your Love. Father, give me both the want to and the power to be able to love as You love.
I pray in Jesus name.
Amen

TODAY’S MANNA for Thursday April 28, 2016

Do you truly understand what the God kind of Love is?

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
1 Corinthians 13:4-5 New International Version

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY’S VERSE…
Love does not focus on me, myself, or I. But instead, love focuses on others. Love focuses on someone else besides me, myself, and I. Each of these qualities of love in the scripture above is based upon an affectionate, compassionate, and forgiving attitude that regards others of value and not just self. It is an unconditional love, just like God’s. You can NOT tell someone you forgive them for something and in the next breath say, “but I’ll never forget what you did!” You’ve just kept a record and love doesn’t keep records! God’s Love is unconditional love! Did you ever notice that in the middle of “sIn” is a big I!

MY PRAYER…
Holy Father, teach me to notice others and value them just as You do. I know You loved me when I was not lovable, and redeemed me when I was not worthy. Help me to take my eyes off myself and see others as You see them. Help me to love others as You love ALL.
In Jesus’ name I pray.
Amen

TODAY’S MANNA for Wednesday, April 27, 2016

It’s all very simple and very basic, God is love!

We love because God first loved us.
1 John 4:19 New International Version

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY’S VERSE…
It’s all very simple and very basic. God is love. He is its origin, example, and architect. I love because He loved me first. I know how to love because He has demonstrated it to me. I can love because He made me to have His likeness, and He gave me His Spirit and His character and because He lives in me His love is also in me. He is the fountain, the motivation, and the pinnacle of love. I love because He does, first, last, and always. And His love is unconditional Love, you don’t have to earn it! He just loves us.

MY PRAYER…
God of all comfort, thank You for comforting me with Your love. Just as a child learns from parents how to do so many things, I want to learn to love as You do: sacrificially, selflessly, and submissively. That others may know that they do not have to earn Your love, only receive it. I want to learn to love as You do: that others will see You in me. Help me Holy Father, to be more like You every day. In Jesus name I pray.
Amen

TODAY’S MANNA for Tuesday, April 26, 2016

Are you trying to figure God out ?

“My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
Isaiah 55:8-9 New International Version

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY’S VERSE…
No matter how hard we try to perceive God and perceive what He has for us, He is still God and we are not. We must forever remember that the original, and still primary sin was to try to become God through rebellion & disobedience. Lucifer (now known as Satan, Lucifer is not and does not refer to the Devil or Satan, it refers to a beautiful Archangel before he rebelled!) thought that he had become as God and was greater than his Creator. We must never become like that. We are to submit to His will for our lives and do it His way. We are to know God, but we can never fully know all of His thoughts or become what He is. We are to take on His character and His image, but we cannot become Him. God knows the ‘Big’ picture for us, we only know in part as He allows us to see. This is both exciting and frustrating. But the promise remains that one day we will see Him as He is.
Quit trying to figure out God and just remember, He is God!

MY PRAYER…
Most loving Father, thank You for being so patient with me when I cannot fully understand and appreciate Your Holy character. Thank You for sending Jesus so I can know You better and trust You to know me better than I know myself. Thank You Father for allowing me to come boldly into Your presence and into Your throne room. Father, continue to reveal Your thoughts to me as I go through life, that I may know Your perfect will for my life. Through Jesus, my Lord and Saviour, I offer my thanks and praise.
Amen

TODAY’S MANNA for Monday April 25, 2016

Do you still live by the Law?

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.
Matthew 22:37-39 New International Version

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY’S VERSE…
Some things are just not very complicated, but we try to make them complicated by our own thinking. Living for Jesus can be boiled down to two very basic principles according to Jesus in the Bible:
1. Love God with everything I am and have.
2. Love others and treat them as I would like to be treated.

These are not too hard to understand now are they?
You ask: “What about the 10 Commandments, am I not supposed to keep them?”
My Reply: Well, that was the Old Testament, That was really for the children of Israel not us, before the new and better covenant that Jesus made for us with His Blood. But, Yes we are. Jesus said in Matthew 22:40: “On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” He was saying, if you keep these 2 simple new commandments I’ve given you, you will fulfill all of what is written in the “law” (the Law is really more than 10 Commandments, there are actually 613 of them). I don’t live by the Law, I live by the 2 commandments given me by Jesus. Which, by the way, satisfies ALL the requirements set forth in the “Ten Commandments” anyway! For more information on how this works check out this book.

MY PRAYER…
Holy Father, Please accept the work of my hands, the words of my mouth, the moments of my rest, and the love of my heart as I worship You this day. I pray that it is pleasing and a sweet smelling aroma to You. Continue Father, to place Your love and compassion for people into my heart that I may become more like You every day. Help me to be more of You and less of me. Through your only Begotten Son, my Lord and Saviour Jesus, I pray.
Amen

TODAY’S MANNA for Sunday April 24, 2016

Have you ever given any thought to what the beginning of the Earth was?
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.   The same was in the beginning with God.  All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made.
John 1:1-3             King James Version
THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY’S VERSE(s)…
Have you ever given any thought to what the beginning was?  I don’t mean Darwin’s Theory either!  I mean the very beginning before there was anything.  Before there was anything that we know of, The Word WAS!   The Word was with God in the beginning and He was God, in the beginning the Word was whatever God spoke!  The Word was not already written down somewhere on scrolls or tablets.  God spoke forth the Word and what He spoke came into existence.  The faith filled Word-seed that God spoke went forth and the Holy Spirit acted upon it and the supernatural power of God caused something to happen in the natural realm.  It wasn’t some ‘Big Bang’ as science theory tries to proclaim. The Bible also says that nothing that was made came about without Him (the Word).   Verse 2 says the same was with God in the beginning.  The Greek word used here is  “houtos” G3778 in the Strong’s Concordance and it’s possible meanings are:  the he (she or it), –he (it was that), hereof, it, she, such as, the same, these, they, this (man, same, woman), which, who.  Notice the Greek implies a person.  This same (“houtos”, the He) , the Word, was with God in the beginning.  Now let’s jump ahead and look at verse 14 of John 1 and see who this “houtos” was.   “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”   Praise God, Jesus (the Word) was with God in the beginning, it was He Who formed the worlds, because He was the Word!   And now God has given us His Word by divine inspiration through holy men of old, written down, to guide us each and every day.  Because He wanted His Word with us always.
MY PRAYER…
Heavenly Father, I pray that You will reveal unto Your people the true image of Jesus, the truth of who He really is.  That You would fill our hearts with the knowledge and truth of Your Word as we read and meditate on it.  That You would quicken that Word within our spirits that we might be alive unto You even as Jesus was in the beginning.  Father help us to become as living Word unto You.  Help us to be what You would have us to be, and to do what You would have us to do on this earth as we complete the ministry given us here on earth.
In Jesus Name I pray.
Amen

TODAY’S MANNA for Friday April 22, 2016

There is only one way to be delivered from temptation!

Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
Rev 3:10             King James Version

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY’S VERSE…
God’s promises, this one spoken through revelation to John, promises that He will deliver us (His Children, the Church, Christians, not cults, other religions, religious folk or the world) from temptation.  Temptation which Jesus says will come upon ALL the world.  No one will be exempt, all will be tempted of the devil.  But He promises if we keep the Word of His patience He will keep us from temptation, deliver us from temptation.  What is that word of His patience?  The very Word of God, hidden in our hearts, written upon our hearts and believed by every bit of spirit, body and soul that we are – to be true. If you are waiting for God to speak to you pick up your Bible and read it.  He speaks His ‘Word’ to us through His Bible.

MY PRAYER…
Most Holy God, I give You praise and glory forever.  Father I thank You for promising to deliver us from temptation.  I know that You are not a man that You should lie and that what You have promised You are able to and You shall fulfill.  I thank You Lord that through Your Word I am an overcomer, for the Greater One lives within me.  And I have the Comforter, the Guide, the Teacher, the Counselor, and the power of Pentecost through the Holy Spirit that Jesus poured out on me living inside of me.  Father, thank for Your Word.  In Jesus mighty name, I pray.
Amen

TODAY’S MANNA for Saturday April 23, 2016

Do you ever wonder what you need to wear to that special meeting?
As God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
Colossians 3:12                New International Version
THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY’S VERSE…
Do you ever wonder what you need to wear to that special meeting?    Paul reminds us that we have a set of clothing that is always in style no matter what the meeting or with who.  We wear this clothing because we are God’s special people, a chosen people.   This clothing is from the  “Ultimate Designer’s”  collection and is called ‘God’s Character’ and is best worn when we are with and around other people.   These qualities are hard to wear, but always a blessing to those who meet us when we’re decked out in His wardrobe.  This is the Robes of Righteousness given us through the blood of Jesus.  Wear them proudly, but with humility and meekness.
MY PRAYER…
Abba Father, thank You for bringing me into Your family.  May I never disappoint You in the way I treat others.  May they see in me the qualities of character that can only be attributed to Your presence in my life.  Father thank You for giving me Your Robes of Righteousness, may I wear them in a manner worthy of You.  To You be the glory and the honor, forever and ever, through Jesus my Lord.
Amen
